TWICE A WEEK WE HAVE LIVE MUSIC FROM SOME OF THE GREATEST LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL BANDS. FROM REGGAE TO FUNK, BLUES TO ROCK, HIP HOP TO SOUL, WE HAVE AN ECLECTIC AND DIVERSE RANGE OF BANDS THAT PLAY HERE.

For a couple of years now Joe Banyard has given us these monthly nights, where local, young talented musicians are given a chance to show case what they love to do most. This is the night if you want to see something fresh, new and upcoming!

Hard to pin down into a particular style Thee Ones are a collective of musicians who powerfully present their style on stage to any willing audience, a blend of Blues, 50’s & 60’s Grooves, Rock, R&B with some incredible Blues Harp!

WEDS 23rd APR – ST GEORGES DAY!

This year we are going all out for St Georges Day! On the night from 7:30 – 9pm we wil have The Lassington Oak Morris Men & The Stroud Morris Dancers! At 9pm we will have a band with a special set from ‘The Two Anchors” in between the bands set. During the day we will be holding a special event (TBC) and on the night will be some fantastic events and food specials!

Cabstars have a mission to create a new Ska & Reggae sound for the 21st century. With a fun attitude, danceable rhythms and lyrics which reflect modern life, they are heavily Influenced by traditional Ska, roots Reggae, rhythm and blues and 2-tone. These influences combine to create the unique Cabstars sound.

The Bristolian ‘Journey Man’ Gaz Brookfield is an uber busy young musician who constantly tours the UK playing to packed out audiences in each town or city he graces. A singer song writer telling tales of the modern man, a show not to miss.

Captain Accident & the Disasters started life as a bedroom project (Captain Accident) and has been brought to life by Adam and the collective of talented musicians dubbed as ‘The Disasters’. Reggae jammed with some super sweet vocal harmonies spread over the top of laid back bass riffs and reverb-drenched guitars, which sound like sunshine pouring out of your speakers!

SAT 3RD MAY – RENE:GADE FESTIVAL 2014, MAN V HEAT CHILLI COMPETITION & THE GUERILLA ART SESSIOS.

In it’s 5th and strongest year Rene:Gade returns to show how much of an event it has blossomed into. On stage we will have: FUNKE AND THE TWO TONE BABY, PRIME POSITION & BLATANTLEE, ARANKAS CACKLE, KING SOLOMON BAND, & FIRST DEGREE BURNS, the event will be hosted by Clare of the Speaker Chicas. On this day we will has the 3rd annual Man V Heat Chilli Competition where crazy locals and seasoned veterans pit their taste bud against the fiery Man V Heat Chilli. Underground in our Cellar Bar we will be having the first of our Guerilla Art Sessions with a one of pop up 2 hour exhibition from artists: Trix, Flava, Botkind, Dice 67, J520, and A.K.A! to finish this momentous occasion off in the Cellar Bar from 10pm we have HouseBound the biggest House night in Gloucester. We will be raising funds for S.A.R.A (Severn Area Rescue Association).

Bob ‘Miff’ Smith is a singer songwriter who has playing live with bands or solo for over 35years! Not only was he a front man of the legendary punk band ‘Demob’ but also the bands ‘Rescue Express’ & ‘Garrison Damn’. With a set of pure Folk, Country, Rock & Punk roots backed up with stories of old times gone by, it’s a deep and powerful performance with doses of jovial qualities interspersed.

Black Russian is a brilliant Rock outfit 5 member’s strong playing gritty, sexy, low-down Rock ‘n’ Roll. Drinkers, rockers, revellers and rollers, all five members have collaborated, bringing their own unique and varied influences and styles to the table resulting in an exciting new spin on authentic hard rock.

Paul Sharpe is a young aspiring musician from Exmouth who is hungry to take over the UK with his Indie Alternative sounds. His sound is soulful with undertones of The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and The Smiths. We can’t wait for his Rene debut!

FRI 16th MAY – STEELYARD BLUES

Touring blues band based in 3 countries. England, Belgium and the Netherlands. The band play adjustments of Standard Traditional blues they also play Heavier Bluesrock and Rock and roll plus goodtime – partytime boogie-woogie. The band also has a serious side, which includes original material.

SAT 17TH MAY – SWAMPCANDY

Swamp Candy is a U.S Blues Duo that takes over the stage with the same raw energy and strength as any full piece Blues band. Their Aggressive Stomping- Mississippi-Blues and cross-genre sets create an eclectic mix of honestly crafted songs that will take you on a journey of raw emotion and refined sensation.
